Artist and Artifact: Re|Visioning Brooklyn's Past explores the relationship between Brooklyn's contemporary cultural heritage with its historical roots. Seven artists, two writers, and one musician were invited to re-interpret Brooklyn's historical tradition through a contemporary lens. Through this exciting initiative,contributors explored the Society's collection for inspiration for original art work. These new works will be exhibited along with the utilized pieces from the BHS collection in an upcoming exhibition at BHS and BRIC Rotunda Gallery.

Featured artists: Terry Adkins, Meredith Bergmann, Elizabeth Gaffney, Stanley Greenberg, Nora Herting, Andrés Vera Martínez, Daniel José Older, Kristin Posehn, Michael Schwartz, Xiaoze Xie.

Opening reception at BRIC Rotunda Gallery on November 10 from 7-9 PM.
