Brooklyn Independent: Film
Weekdays @ 1 & 9pm
As a number of Brooklynites begin to pack their bags for the Sundance Film Festival, we’re bringing you special programming every weekday at 1 and 9pm in January to celebrate our local filmmakers, their work, and the borough that inspires them.
• On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we are giving a platform to recent work from Brooklyn-based organizations Rooftop Films and Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective. Films include stories about a poignant confrontation between two men who claim the same dog, an animated struggle for dominance between an egg and an apple, and a profile of a working magician called Magick.
• On Thursdays, watch selections from On My Block's 2012 Film Challenge, which invites both novice and professional filmmakers to create films of their block using only their block’s residents as cast and crew.
• On Friday, January 11, tune in for Best of Brooklyn Filmmakers, which showcases the diversity of films being made by local artists in a compilation of some of BIT’s finest film-related programming.
• On Friday January 18, acclaimed film and television director Rose Troche sits down with four Sundance-bound filmmakers in Brooklyn Goes to Sundance.
Catch it all on Brooklyn's Cablevision 69, Time Warner 56, RCN 84 and in all five boroughs on Verizon 44. Viewers may also stream online.
