Revelatory Tension: New Assertions on Divine Form

Curated by Kalia Brooks, Revelatory Tension: New Assertions on Divine Form is a proposition for the theological aesthetic in contemporary art. The exhibition highlights the work of six artists who incorporate a variety of media to abstract the ideology of devotion that often accompanies religious practice. Exhibiting artists – all based in Brooklyn, New York include – Derrick Adams, Lindsay Benedict, Russell Frederick, Jason Irwin, Shane Aslan Selzer, and Jeff Sims. Their work is an exploration into the spatial, lingual, formal and material qualities that signify a contemplation of the divine, and emphasizes the gallery as a site of creative reverence.

The exhibition is on view November 4 through December 18. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 12 to 6 pm. The Gallery will be closed Thursday, November 26 through Saturday, November 28 for Thanksgiving.
