For Educators

Residencies in Schools Program

BRIC partners with schools and community-based organizations to provide visual arts and media residency programs for students in grades Pre K through 12. Our programs are taught by DOE-fingerprinted, experienced teaching artists and programs are tailored specifically for each school’s goals and needs. Programs are aligned with the NYC DOE Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts and NY State Standards in the Arts. Our approach helps build art and media skills and vocabulary, while offering opportunities for students to develop their authentic creative voices. Each year culminates with an annual Student Exhibition at BRIC House to showcase work from our partner sites in our professional public gallery space.

Does your school or organization want to work with BRIC? Please fill out our Partner Inquiry Form to begin the process.

Professional Development for Educators

BRIC partners with schools and educators to explore best practices in art and media education through workshops, continuing media education  and technical support right in their school buildings. Please inquire for more information.

BRIC’s Group Visits Program

BRIC’s youth education department offers private group tours on our gallery exhibits and studio facilities. In addition, we offer custom workshops for educator groups aligned with the DOE Blueprint .
