Figures for the 2011-12 School Year
BRIC's Contemporary Art Education program connects public school students in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx as well as teachers, and entire school communities with contemporary art.
BRIC's contemporary art education program exposes students to contemporary art by sending artist teachers directly into the classroom for in-school residencies, and facilitating classroom visits to BRIC Rotunda Gallery's exhibitions. The culmination of these residencies is an annual exhibition of student artwork. The program also creates unique Professional Development opportunities for artists and teacher to learn how to use contemporary art concepts and techniques to help students better understanding a range of academic subjects.
