Exhibition Info
In Sleep Lite, Dream Heavy, Isaac “Soup” Campbell offers an introspective exploration into the themes of belief, self-actualization, and the transcendence of fear. In this deeply personal and compelling body of work, Campbell invites viewers to witness a visual narrative that reflects the pursuit of one’s dreams and the shedding of doubt—a relentless journey towards self-expression.
Hailing from Newark, New Jersey, and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, Campbell has spent over a decade developing his craft. This exhibition marks the first public opportunity to view a curated collection of his photographic oeuvre, capturing pivotal moments across an 11-year journey. His work exists at the intersection of music, sports, art, and culture, offering a multifaceted lens through which the human experience is examined. Each photograph is meticulously composed to create a dialogue around vulnerability, inviting audiences to engage with the often unseen emotional landscapes of his subjects.
The exhibit is further elevated by a live auditory experience, curated by Campbell’s DJ persona, “MORESOUPPLEASE.” This immersive soundscape transforms the gallery space into a communal environment, where visitors are encouraged to connect, reflect, and participate in the artist’s creative process. The live listening session acts not only as a sonic complement to his visual work but as a demonstration of Campbell’s mastery of crowd dynamics through music, merging the auditory with the visual in a seamless, immersive experience.
Through Sleep Lite, Dream Heavy, Isaac Campbell presents a testament to the power of self-belief and the vulnerability that lies at the heart of artistic expression. This exhibition speaks not only to art and photography collectors but to anyone who understands the importance of dreaming without limits.
On Sat, Feb. 15, join us for a one-of-a-kind evening as MORESOUPPLEASE headlines HOUSE PARTY — an immersive audio experience and opening reception for Sleep Lite, Dream Heavy.
