At BRIC, we love to scratch that creative itch – all in service of our communities. Here, you can take that idea that came to you on a bolt of inspiration, the one you never thought would see the light of day, and make it real. Maybe it’s a play, a TV show, a piece of choreography, a series of photos, or a performance. Whatever it is, we welcome it. We nourish it. And we let it take shape without gatekeeping or undue influence.
BRIC is a place of alchemy. Every day, we turn nothing into something. And at the end of the day, we’re beholden to you – the people. We exist to serve.
So, why do we do this work? Why is it important? Why should you support us? Why BRIC, and why now?
For me, the answer is simple. I wish I had a place like BRIC when I was a teenager trying to connect my passion to my purpose. Back then, the creators I looked up to felt distant. They were on TV, larger than life, and too often they didn’t look like me or come from where I came from. To be creative and live your truth felt as fantastic as lightsabers and talking robots.
That’s why we’re here. We listen, we adjust our frequencies, and we strive to represent you. We want you to see yourself on our screens, our stages, and in our classrooms. That’s how we can shape a creative future – by leaning on each other, by building together.
Now, we’re looking ahead. BRIC’s new Strategic Plan is our roadmap for the next five years. It’s our commitment to strengthening this space for artists, media makers, and communities across Brooklyn. It’s about making sure everyone has access to the tools, platforms, and support to create, tell their stories, and be seen.
And we want you to be a part of it.
