Vocalist, producer, and composer Morley weaves the threads of jazz, soul, and folk traditions into a singular tapestry of vocal and acoustic splendor — the sound wave of a life lived with uncommon devotion to human rights and environmental justice. Her new album, Follow the Sound, is an expansive, globally minded, jazz-influenced offering that marks the start of a new chapter in the artist’s career. The 12 evocative compositions, co-produced and co-written with GRAMMY®-winning producer Chris Bruce (Meshell Ndegeocello’s No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin), are at once a gentle conjure into the deep end of the heart, a celebration, and a call to action.

Morley’s compositions embrace a uniquely global state of mind born out of her New York City upbringing, attending United Nations International School, The Duke Ellington High School for the Performing Arts, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.

Over the course of seven studio albums released through Sony and Universal, as well as independently released offerings, Morley has garnered an array of accolades, grants, and awards. Her songs have been licensed by network television shows and human rights documentaries. She has been a featured performer and speaker at TEDWomen and sings for visionaries on the frontiers of change, moving minds and spirits as diverse as His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela, Mary Robinson, and Betty Williams.

As a lyricist, Morley has contributed to albums for artists including William Parker, Youn Sun Nah, Richard Bona, Osunlade, Lizz Wright, and more. Her singing and speaking voice is one of the featured solo voices alongside Natalie Cole, Carly Simon, James Taylor, and Seal for Ralph Lauren’s “My Romance” fragrance campaign.

Morley spearheaded the release of the benefit album Borderless Lullabies, featuring Yo-Yo Ma, Esperanza Spalding, Meryl Streep, Rosanne Cash, Toshi Reagon, Somi, Lizz Wright, Jacqueline Woodson, Maria Popova, and Martha Redbone, among others. This album continues to be a source of revenue for the pro-bono legal defense group K I N D (Kids In Need of Defense), to aid in reuniting migrant children with their families after being separated by ICE.

In 2023, Morley produced and self-released a various-artist global children’s album entitled Story of the Sky (under the name “The Bruces”) with her writing partner and husband, Chris Bruce.
