A Message from BRIC President Wes Jackson

Hello friends and BRIC community. If we haven’t met, my name is Wes Jackson, and I have the honor and privilege of serving as the president of BRIC Arts & Media.

Today, I know that we may face uncertainty, but I’m reaching out to share my promise that BRIC remains a place of community and connection for you. I like to say that BRIC is a place for gathering. A space where community comes together to share hope, creativity, and dreams of a brighter future.

As we navigate the months ahead, I would love to remind you that our doors are always open for you to access our resources, enjoy a stroll through our gallery or hang out with friends in our cafe. Everyone is welcome here.

Inclusive spaces for gathering and storytelling will be more important than ever. We invite you to visit our exhibition highlighting the beauty of community and interdependence as well as the legacy of collaboration and care in the disability community. Our gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday, 11am-6pm. Our media education classes are always free or low-cost, equipping you with the tools to tell your story. You can watch original community-driven programming on Brooklyn Free Speech and BRIC TV. And you can always support our work to empower more young people to become creators and to bring boundary-pushing cultural programming to Brooklyn and beyond.

Let’s foster resilience together through creativity and connection, and please know that no matter what challenges we face, at BRIC, we can gather together in joy and experience the transformational power of art.

BRIC President, Wes Jackson
