BRIC Appoints Gwendolyn Pointer as Chief Revenue Officer in Newly Created Executive Role

BROOKLYN, NY – June 18, 2025 – BRIC, Brooklyn’s leading contemporary arts, media, and civic engagement organization, today announced the appointment of Gwendolyn Pointer as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), a newly created executive position. Pointer will lead BRIC’s comprehensive revenue strategy, overseeing corporate partnerships, sponsorship development, and innovative funding initiatives to support the organization’s mission of reflecting Brooklyn’s creativity and diversity. She will report to BRIC President, Wes Jackson, and work closely with the executive team to deepen the organization’s community roots while growing its national and global footprint.

The newly created CRO role supports BRIC’s strategic plan to enhance its financial sustainability while strengthening programming that serves Brooklyn communities. BRIC is unique as both a media center and arts organization, presenting signature events including BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! and BRIC JazzFest, producing award-winning programming on BRIC TV and Brooklyn Free Speech, and empowering community members through artist residencies, workshops and classes. Her role will be instrumental in supporting these tentpole programs, ensuring they remain accessible.

Pointer brings over a decade of revenue generation expertise in arts, media, and cultural organizations. As Executive Vice President at GLAAD Media Institute since 2020, she delivered exceptional growth. Her career includes successful leadership roles at WNYC Studios, The Paley Center for Media, and Brooklyn Academy of Music, where she consistently exceeded revenue goals and secured partnerships with major brands including Google, Netflix, Nike, Disney, and Bloomberg Philanthropies.
