BRIC President Wes Jackson states: “The relaunch of Stoop Share is BRIC’s way of offering accessible spaces for performance, creativity, and storytelling in a city where affordable space is a diminishing commodity. We are proud to highlight the work of our community producers and emerging artists through the BRIC Film Festival, our first program as part of this relaunch. I hope you’ll join us in celebrating the creativity of Brooklyn and beyond.”
The festival, free and open to the public, showcases works from community producers and emerging visionaries who have developed their craft through BRIC’s innovative media education programs. Stoop Share: A Platform for Community Voices
BRIC’s Stoop Share, returning after a three-year pandemic pause, is a community engagement program that provides nonprofit organizations and artists in Brooklyn and New York City with access to BRIC’s facilities. Specifically designed for groups lacking regular access to public programming spaces, Stoop Share helps visual artists, performers, media makers, and supporting nonprofits amplify their voices and share their diverse creative visions.
Priority consideration is given to:
- Local independent artists and non-profit organizations whose annual budget is less than 5 million dollars.
- Currently or previously enrolled participants of BRIC’s programs as well as members
of (and organizations who focus on supporting) covered populations. Covered populations are groups of people who are disproportionately impacted by the digital divide.
BRIC’s café and operations services are available to Stoop Share presenters for an additional fee.
The next Stoop Share will be a staged reading of “The Imaginary Invalid” presented in partnership with Moliere in the Park on March 6. For more information about Stoop Share opportunities, visit here.
