Kimani Rogers, Susan Murray, and Tucker Reed Named New BRIC Board Members

BRIC is proud to announce the addition of three distinguished individuals to our Board of Directors: Kimani Rogers, Susan Murray, and Tucker Reed. Their extensive experience and deep commitment to the arts and community will greatly enrich BRIC’s mission to support and showcase the creative voices of Brooklyn and beyond.

“During this invigorating time of change, growth and evolution for BRIC, we’re all excited to work with Susan, Kamani and Tucker as we re-imagine how BRIC serves our community and the creative economy. Personally, I’m looking forward to having their varied and extensive experience around the table as we continue to reinforce our leadership team. It’s exciting,” said Michael Liburd, BRIC Board Chair

“We are thrilled to welcome Tucker, Kimani, and Susan as esteemed members of the BRIC board. Their personal and professional backgrounds and dedication to advancing cultural equity align with our vision for a more inclusive and vibrant arts community in Brooklyn, and I look forward to working with them to shape the next generation of Brooklyn’s creative leaders in the years to come,” said Wes Jackson, BRIC President

Kimani Rogers, Executive Vice President at Wells Fargo and a native New Yorker, brings an abundance of financial experience to the board. Rogers shared his excitement, stating, “As an artist working a non artistic job, I have only recently recognized just how much creative energy goes into everything I do. It was an honor to be asked to be on the board of BRIC. Having the ability to help support the creative future and increase the impact of visual artists, performers, and media makers at a time when that support is being taken away in so many spaces is what got me excited to put some of my own creative energy into the mission.”

Susan Murray, Head of Revenue at Year Up, a nonprofit organization focused on closing the “opportunity gap” by providing job training and placement for young adults, brings extensive experience in fundraising and corporate engagement. Murray expressed her deep commitment to BRIC’s mission, stating, “BRIC is unparalleled in its commitment to creating arts access for the communities it serves, opportunities for learning, and a home for Brooklyn creativity. As a longtime Brooklyn resident and believer in BRIC’s transformative work, I’m honored to join the board at this pivotal moment for the organization. As BRIC prepares for the next chapter of building the creative future of Brooklyn and beyond, I’m energized by the organization’s visionary leadership, forward momentum, and a mission I wholeheartedly believe in.”

Tucker Reed, Principal of Brooklyn-based real estate development firm Totem, rounds out the trio of new board members with his wealth of experience in urban development and community revitalization. Expressing his enthusiasm for joining BRIC’s board, Reed emphasized, “Brooklyn has countless stories to tell. And has nurtured some of the world’s greatest storytellers from Isaac Asimov, to Jean-Michel Basquiat. Today, BRIC strikes me as one of Brooklyn’s most important story keepers. As the world around us changes so quickly, I am delighted to join the Board of BRIC to support preserving and pushing forward the Brooklyn story for future generations. And bolster the continued growth of the Brooklyn Cultural District – an effort I am proud to have been a part of for nearly two decades now.”
