BRIC ArtFP is an open call initiative led by BRIC’s Contemporary Art program, where local artists receive honorariums and production fees for exhibition of their work in the Project Room or Hallway spaces.
APPLICATION TIMELINE:
- Application Period: November 9 – January 27, 2020.
- Finalists will be contacted: March 2020
- For projects being exhibited: Fall 2020 – Spring 2021

ARTISTS WILL RECEIVE:
- An honorarium + production fees
- Exhibition space in either the Project Room or Hallway space of BRIC House
- Technical and installation support
- Artistic mentoring
- Marketing and promotional support
- Photography of exhibition
- Opening reception
SELECTION CRITERIA
- We are looking for Brooklyn or New York City-area visual artists who are developing new work that is relevant to diverse Brooklyn audiences.
- Projects will be chosen through a panel review that will include previous ArtFP artists and BRIC staff.
SPACES
PROJECT ROOM
- Location: The Project Room is a separate small gallery adjacent to the main gallery at BRIC House that focuses on highlighting a body of new work.
- Dimensions: 24 x 12 ft.
- Duration: 6 weeks
- Honorarium and Production Fees: $1000
- Installation: 2 days with an art installer.

HALLWAY
- Location: A highly trafficked but not completely white-box space, Hallway commissions provide space to create wall and ceiling-based installations. We seek artists for the Hallway who are excited by the opportunity to share their work in a public-facing alternative space.
- Dimensions: 55 running ft.
- Duration: 8-12 weeks
- Honorarium and Production Fees: $1000
- Installation: 2 days with an art installer.
