Synopsis
PROBLEMATIC is a satirical anthology that follows self-righteous, wannabe writer Twinkle Reddy after her fight with an obnoxious “finance bro” goes viral, transforming her overnight from unknown media minion to woke sensation. In season one, Twinkle attempts to capitalize on the mixed blessings of internet stardom while dealing with Usama, her douchey, click-obsessed, boss, Audra, a deranged work rival touting hashtag activism, and Bunny, her BFF who refuses to grow up…or put up with her growing egomania. As the clock ticks on Twinkle’s 15 minutes of fame, she does all she can to deliver on a lucrative book deal and her newfound status as an outrage icon. From rage to riches, just how far will she go before realizing that she, too, is problematic? A comedic meditation on today’s culture wars, fame, and righteousness, “Problematic” holds a mirror to the currents that make us and break us as a society.
Creator’s Statement
The story of Problematic is both timely and timeless. We live in a world of outrage, defined by its fault lines, and spinning faster every day with each whiplash turn in the news cycle. This is the world we live in, and in which Problematic takes place. In the midst of that chaos is a character—Twinkle Reddy—motivated by noble qualities like justice, equality, and compassion. Unheard and unseen for most of her life, Twinkle is suddenly given power to create the change she so desperately wants to see in the world—but will she create change, or will this new found authority change her? Beneath all the laughs, this is a story about ambition, self-awareness, and power. In creating Problematic, our mission was to elevate uproarious comedic writing and intelligent social satire with visual and emotional textures that are more often seen in dramatic film and television. In doing so, we wanted to create a story that compels audiences not only with humor, but with an abiding sense of humanity that helps us relate to all of its characters—protagonists and antagonists alike.

SEED & SPARK Campaign
Everyone who has seen PROBLEMATIC so far has loved and lauded it, and we think you will too! It’s funny, relatable, zany, and heartwarming. Did we mention that it’s funny? So, if you think we’re pretty, please support our campaign!
Seriously, though, it’s taken us years, tears (of laughter and distress), and the support of an entire borough (we love you Brooklyn, that’s why we make fun of you) to get our series from page to screen. Now, we need support from Brooklyn and beyond (that’s you) to get our show seen and on the radar of the industry for a chance to make our short form, proof of concept into the real deal: a half hour series.
Donations will be in support of our PR and marketing work, compensation for a publicist, and a premiere event, all of which we need to garner attention to the show’s release. Once folks watch, we know they’ll be fans. THANK YOU FOR BEING SOME OF OUR FIRST!!!
