Over the course of eight sessions, you will learn skills in pre-production, field production, and video editing. This is also a certification course, which will allow you to check out equipment from us to use to create your own project. Please note that this program is designed for high schoolers 14-19 years old and includes a $200 stipend upon successful completion of the program. Read our Youth Certification Process for more information on certification. When you complete the program, you will be joining a vibrant community of producers and artists, and will be eligible for other paid work opportunities.

We especially welcome applications from women and individuals who identify with groups historically excluded from media and visual arts careers, such as Black, Latino/a, LGBTQ+, and Neurodiverse communities.

If you need some inspiration for your application or would like insight into how we assess applications, please check out our assessment rubric and sample application.

Public support for the Youth Filmmaking Bootcamp is provided by New York City Council Member Rita Joseph.
