Event Info
The Art a Catalyst for Change culminating event targets 6-12th grade public school students and community organizations in support of art as a form of activism. Funding will support the Art a Catalyst for Change culminating event for the borough of Brooklyn. The culminating event will highlight the work created by the Grant’s recipients that use art and media to engage, organize, and mobilize young people around the issue of gun violence. BRIC’s in-school and after-school residencies bring working artists and media makers into public school classrooms, leveraging art and media-making to explore students’ personal perspectives related to gun violence. The culminating event will feature a keynote speaker, performances, and artmaking activities that promote anti-gun violence messages.
