BRIC House Party presents Brooklyn Brujeria Day II: Magic Market + Fair & Noche de Salsa + Fiesta

The Brooklyn Brujeria Festival is an annual gathering that celebrates the intersection of music, dance, spirituality, and ancestral traditions. More than a festival, it is a space for cultural preservation and exchange, bringing together diverse folkloric performance groups from across the Afro-Latinx diaspora. Previous editions have featured Venezuelan Tambor, Colombian Bullerengue, Cuban Rumba, Puerto Rican Bomba, and other traditional Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Latin American musical and percussion styles, creating a powerful convergence of rhythm, ritual, and community.

In addition to its rich musical programming, the festival has featured DJs such as Geko Jones, Madame Vacile, DJ Bembona, Christian Martir, DJ Tahleim, DJ Ultraviolet, MoonBabe3000, and others. Past editions have been anchored by the annual gathering under the DUMBO Archway as well as events at other iconic Brooklyn venues including House of Yes, Sultan Room, Black Flamingo, Bembe, and other spaces.

Brooklyn Brujeria Festival es un encuentro anual que celebra la intersección de la música, la danza, la espiritualidad y las tradiciones ancestrales. Más que un festival, es un espacio para la preservación y el intercambio cultural, reuniendo a diversos grupos de performance folklóricos de toda la diáspora Afro-Latina. Las ediciones anteriores han presentado grupos de Tambor Venezolano, Bullerengue Colombiano, Rumba Cubana, Bomba Puertorriqueña y otros estilos musicales y de percusión Afro Caribeños y afro-latinoamericanos tradicionales, creando una poderosa convergencia de ritmo, ritual y comunidad.

Chiquita Brujita is a third-generation Nuyorican, a performance artist, and cultural producer based in New York City. As the founder of Brooklyn Brujeria (2018), she has created a platform that connects Afro-Caribbean spiritual traditions with contemporary art, music, and a love for her community. Her work has been featured in major national and international media outlets, including The New York Times, BBC, ABC News, and more, highlighting her role in the resurgence of Brujería as a spiritual and cultural movement. She has also collaborated with prominent institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum, El Museo del Barrio, and the Caribbean Cultural Center and Afro-Diasporic Institute. Through her work, Chiquita Brujita continues to create transformative spaces for artistic expression, spiritual exploration, and community celebration, redefining the role of Brujería in contemporary culture while honoring its deep ancestral roots.

Chiqui B (Chiquita Brujita) is a third generation Nuyorican Bruja, founder of Brooklyn Brujeria, and a vinyl collector and selector. Her sound draws from across the African Diaspora, with an emphasis on classic Salsa recordings that pay homage to the Orishas. She is the newest member of Uptown Vinyl Supreme.

Como fundadora de Brooklyn Brujeria (2018), ha creado una plataforma que conecta las tradiciones espirituales afro-caribeñas con el arte contemporáneo, la música y el amor por su comunidad. Madame Vacile, a native of Barranquilla, Colombia, is a musical selector, DJ, and cultural activist who brings the tropical carnival rhythms of her homeland to every stage she touches. As a student of the music of the African Diaspora in all its forms, Madame Vacile creates a signature sound where you can hear the original influences tie directly into what is playing today along many parts of Colombia’s Caribbean coast – traditional rhythms that evoke the power of the dance floor to serve as a site for joy and resistance.
