Emerging Creators is BRIC’s yearly student exhibition celebrating the work of young artists and media makers from BRIC’s Youth Education Residency Programs in public schools and community centers across Brooklyn and beyond.

This year’s student exhibition showcases a selection of works created by over 3,200 young artists. BRIC partners its Teaching Artists with more than 50 schools and community-based organizations every year, located across 22 Brooklyn neighborhoods, to deliver quality arts education. Emerging Creators is a platform for youth voices exploring diverse topics including community, identity, activism, and current events. Our young artists experimented in a wide range of media, including: mixed media, painting, sculpture, printmaking, sewing, photography, podcasting, animation, and filmmaking, to produce artworks that explore the issues and events shaping their world.

BRIC House is a one-stop shop for emerging creators and equips its partners to innovate and document the artistic growth of our youth. The mission of the Youth Education & Family Programs Department is to work with under-resourced communities and schools to nurture creativity while providing access to media education, technology, equipment, and career exploration. This exhibition embodies the creative courage, thoughtfulness, and resilience of the youth.
