Exhibition Info
Forty-Seven Easy Poundcakes Like grandma Use to Make is a series of forty-seven digital drawings by artist Nyeema Morgan. The drawings are amalgamations of forty-seven variable “easy poundcake” recipes gathered from the results of online Google searches, and including the artist’s grandmother’s recipe. All forty-seven recipes were sequentially edited into one another with redirected word placement and negated superfluous text. The resulting forty-seven drawings are completely unique, despite identical procedures, and information.
This exhibition will be on view in BRIC Rotunda Gallery’s “Project Room” and will run concurrent with the Cultural Fluency group exhibition.
