Neighborhood Beat is a series spotlighting Brooklyn's diverse neighborhoods produced hosted and directed by local leaders and residents.
Brooklyn has long been revered as an international city—a place where you can come to see the world! Over time its rich history has grown abundant through the convergence of people and cultures artistic movements the creation of grassroots organizations and the development of "Mom & Pop" businesses. Brooklyn communities are full of great stories and Neighborhood Beat was created to tell them.
Started in 2006 with the support of the Borough President and produced in collaboration with Booklynites, Neighborhood Beat strives to introduce "Brooklyn to Brooklyn" by encouraging viewers to become tourists at home and by empowering residents to tell their story through the medium of television. The series highlights historical information, culture, food, small businesses and an eclectic mix of local personalities and organizations in more than 30 neighborhoods throughout the borough.
